Team Rubicon is an international disaster response charity that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy disaster response teams to communities affected by disasters across the globe. Team Rubicon maintains a roster of volunteers able to deploy in the UK or abroad.
Team Rubicon Has the Following Capabilities:
Give me a cup of leadership (coffee that is) and we’ll make sure we have the largest impact possible with the resources available during this disaster response.
Damage & Impact Assessment
Something bad happened – but, really, how bad was it? We get there fast to map from the impact on the homeowner to the impact on the community.
Disaster Mapping and Work-Order Management
All the bad news collected is mapped – by tracking everything we do we can ensure resources are allocated effectively and reported to the relevant authorities.
There’s a lot of stuff where it doesn’t belong, we help get things back to normal.
Hazard Mitigation (Fire/Flood)
We’re not all about disasters – we can do a lot to prepare and reduce the impact of disasters – Fire breaks, potential flood debris clearing, if it limits the impact of a disaster, you name it, we’ll get it done.
Emergency/Hasty Home Repair
When things get ugly, one of the hardest parts is prepping for the skilled labor to come in and make it pretty – we’re free, fast, and do great work.
Spontaneous Volunteer Management
A lot of people want to help, we help communities make all those good people more organised.
Medical (Intl. Only)
On international operations, TR deploys medics, surgeons, EMTs, nurses, and other medical personnel to staff field hospitals, provide emergency medicine, or organise a DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team).
Team Rubicon deploys equipped with all the resources required to provide the capabilities above including:
- Personal protective equipment
- Hand tools
- Solar-powered electrical suites
- Palantir intelligence analysis and mapping suite (in mobile and static platforms)
All incident management personnel are trained in the application of Incident Command System (ICS). Volunteers are trained in the basics of ICS. Team Rubicon deploys as a self-sustaining unit.
