The immense success of TRUK so far has been incredible. But to meet our rapidly growing commitments, we’re looking for dedicated interns to join our team at HQ. The successful applicants will provide high quality support to either the Development or Operations Departments. Depending on the skills and interests of the applicant, and the needs of the organisation, the role may include a range of responsibilities from the list below.
If selected, you will be asked to attend a trial week before in order to confirm suitability.
Scan, track and gather situational awareness throughout all stages of a disaster.
Develop situation and operation reports and briefs.
Coordinate logistical support during disaster response operations both internationally and domestically.
Use tech and communications platforms to deliver information internally and externally.
Deliver training and support to volunteers.
Manage domestic service projects and regional events.
Provide monitoring and evaluation of operational objectives and outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Interest in working in the humanitarian sector, in particular disaster management
Good written and oral communication skills
Cultural sensitivity and respect for the Humanitarian Principles
A ‘can do’ attitude
Flexibility and resilience: TRUK is a 24hrs organisation – when disaster strikes, we respond. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a 9-5 work day will always be stuck to
